Irène Léger has been practising international arbitration in the Netherlands and in France for more than 13 years. She joined STAUNCH in 2023. She acts as counsel under the rules of the ICC, ICSID, UNCITRAL, NAI and PCA on a wide range of commercial, energy, insurance, technology or post-M&A issues, conducted in English or in French. She also acts in enforcement proceedings of awards and in cross-border litigation. 

She has been appointed Co-Chair of CFA40, the below-40 branch of the French Arbitration Committee. She has been recognised by Who’s Who Legal as a Future Leader in Arbitration since 2019. Her peers and clients say that “she’s a real expert when it comes to evidence” and that her “communication skills are excellent”. She has also been included in the inaugural Legal 500 Arbitration Powerlist 2022 for the Benelux. 

Irène holds an LL.M. in Comparative and International Dispute Resolution from King’s College London, a specialised Master in Litigation, Arbitration and ADR from the Paris Pantheon-Assas University, and a Master in Law from Paris I Pantheon-Sorbonne.
